Do you have an “accountability partner” to help you meet your goals? Someone you can report to, or meet up with, to make sure you do what you promised yourself you would do?
One of my goals is to walk 10,000 steps per day. My accountability partner for this? My Beagle, Ares.
We started walking at night, after dinner, about a month ago. Now, every night at 6:30, he wakes up from his nap (he thinks he’s a cat, really) and starts staring at me. It’s creepy.
If I don’t say the magic words — “You want to go for a walk?” — he starts following me everywhere. If 6:45 rolls around without him hearing those magic words, he starts howling. Loudly. A LOT. NON STOP!
There’s no reasoning with him. You just have to suit up and clip on the leash!
Now, your accountability partner doesn’t have to be as demanding (or borderline creepy) as Ares, but he/she/it should be someone you can check in with, who WON’T judge you when you misstep, but WILL help you get back and stay on track.
And if you can’t find one, drop me a line! We can help each other. I’ve got a long list of goals to get through.
Give a shout out to your favorite “Accountability Partner” in the comments and leave a link to their blog, website, or Public Facebook Page so we can thank them for keeping you on track!
